A. Introduction

  1. All staff are entitled to dignity, respect, and freedom from sexual harassment, as outlined under the Equality Act 2010.
  2. The company has clear reporting procedures and takes reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment.
  3. The Managing Director oversees policy operation, delegating implementation as needed.

B. Scope

  • Policy applies to all employees, workers, volunteers, contractors, and agency workers across all company locations.

C. Definitions

  1. Sexual harassment: Unwanted sexual conduct violating dignity or creating an intimidating environment.
  2. Victimisation: Subjecting someone to detriment for engaging in protected actions under discrimination laws.

D. Circumstances Covered

  • Includes workplace incidents, work-related events, interactions outside the workplace, and online harassment.

E. Reporting Sexual Harassment

  1. Informal Complaints: Raise the issue with a senior colleague confidentially.
  2. Formal Complaints: Submit a written report to your line manager with details and witnesses.

F. Witnessing Harassment

  • Encourage the victim to report or file a report yourself to the line manager.

G. Third-Party Harassment

  • Sexual harassment by external parties like customers or suppliers is addressed under company and legal guidelines.

H. Disciplinary Action

  • Proven cases of harassment may result in dismissal. False, malicious claims may also lead to disciplinary action.

I. Training

  • All employees receive regular training on recognizing and reporting harassment.
